Inspiring Thoughts

What a few days I have had.  I had a rather challenging experience last week Thursday.  My neck decided to clamp up and go all stiff on me with loads of pain telling me “I need to pay attention“.

I tend to be a bit of an energiser bunny and just go, go, go and my poor body has to try and keep up with me.  I seem to give time to everything else and forget about having me time.

I had to go and see an Osteopath, who in short told me that if I don’t make some drastic changes I will lose the use of the right side of my body.  He said I am running on pure andrenalin and have loads of it, I just don’t stop.  He also told me that I forget to breathe, “What, how is that possible”?  He told me I need to slow down and have me time.  I must do pilates 3 times a week in order to rebuild and get my body to uncompress and lower the andrenalin.

It also reminded me how we can get so caught up in what we are doing and continue to push ourselves in order to keep up with all our responsibilities and yet we forget No. 1 ourselves.  In order to function at optimal level we need to pay attention to ourselves.

Give ourselves a time out, exercise, get enough sleep and regenerate. Relax and have a time out.  Take 30 mins a day and just meditate, meditate on nothing, just be, let the universe speak to you.  Spend a few minutes, at least 15 minutes a day exercising.  Go to bed at the same time each night and get 8 hours of sleep.

Here are some great people to speak to, ask them questions, find out what you can do to improve your current lifestyle and find out how you can incorporate it into your busy schedule.

Liz Chukwu

After my appointment with the Osteopath I immediately got on to the phone to Liz who is a qualified nurse and pilates instructor.  I figured if there was anyone who was going to help me, it was going to be Liz.  She immediately jumped in to help me.  She invited me round to her place to see how we were going to move forward.  She worked on areas of my body.  Explained why my body was behaving the way it is.  Even explained why I stop breathing…

She showed me some techniques and excercises I can do each day.  Nothing major, just small things which can make a big difference.  Now we are getting piliates training in the diary.

What really impressed me about Liz was that she wanted to speak with my Osteopath so that she can fully understand what my current situation is.  She said she wanted to make sure we are all on the same page in order to ensure my full recovery.

Carolyn Williams

Clare Evans

Now if you are thinking, I just don’t have the time to do it.  Stop right there and make the time.  I also had this constant thought, I don’t have the time.  I just need to do this and oh just one more thing.  Hence I neglected my body and it almost crashed.  If you don’t know how to manage your time or you are feeling overwhelmed then perhaps it would be good to connect with Clare or get her book on Time Management.

Remember, pay attention to yourself.  Put yourself on top of your to do list each week.

“Your super subconscious mind attracts into your life people, ideas and resources in harmony with your dominant thoughts. It brings you everything you need to succeed.” Flight Plan by Brian Tracy.

In times like these it is easy to allow our minds to fall into the trap of negativity.  We see recession on the news, online, in the newspaper and see it all around us.  Companies closing down, people being unemployed and the atmosphere of lack is filtering its way in.  We can ourselves begin to wonder whether we will make it.

The key is shifting our focus on what we do want, what we want to achieve and taking it day by day.  Decide now, what your most important goal is?  If you could miraculously change one thing today, what would that be?   This would be your right now goal.  Keep this goal as your dominant thought and point of focus.  Make a list of things that you would need to do to help you achieve this goal and each day do something from that list that will take you one step closer to achieving that goal.
